Applications Now Open Silk Road Health Data Science Fellowship

Applications are now open for the Silk Road Health Data Science Fellowship, a a six month virtual program designed to prepare the region’s next generation of healthcare and technology leaders while building a collaborative community to harness data, AI, and digital health for real world impact. Powered by DataCamp and MSAIM’s Virtual Health Data Science Bootcamp III, the fellowship combines expert led lectures, world class online learning, and hands on project work to develop AI driven innovators across Central Asia and South Korea who are ready to shape the future of healthcare.

What the fellowship offers

• 12 months of full access to DataCamp with more than 400 courses in Python, R, SQL, machine learning, AI, data visualization, and data ethics

• A virtual instructor led health data science bootcamp with hands on learning

• A 6 month monthly webinar lecture series featuring regional and international experts

Membership in the Silk Road Health Data Science Community for long term collaboration and peer learning

Target Participants:

• Healthcare professionals and computer scientists

• Computer science and engineering students interested in healthcare domain

• Medical, public health, and biomedical students

• Women and underrepresented groups in STEM and health research

Eligible countries
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, South Korea, Mongolia

Fellowship duration: February 2026 to August 2026

• DataCamp access for 12 months

• Virtual Health Data Science Bootcamp III with a half day instructor led online experience

• Monthly expert led virtual lectures

Certification
A fellowship completion certificate will be awarded by MSAIM to participants who activate their DataCamp account, successfully complete the Virtual Health Data Science Bootcamp III, and attend at least two thirds of the monthly webinars by August.

Application process and fellowship timeline

• 8 January 2026: Applications open

• 22 January 2026: Application deadline

• 23 to 29 January 2026: Fellow selection and announcement

• 1 February 2026: Fellowship launch and DataCamp access begins

• February to August 2026: Monthly virtual lecture series

• May 2026: Virtual Health Data Science Bootcamp III

• August 2026: Fellowship concludes
